Inquiry-Based STEM

FHJ Prep is in the final stages of completing The National Certificate for STEM Excellence (NCSE). This certification recognizes individual school campuses for their commitment to – and growth in – teachers’ implementation of 21st Century and STEM strategies.

Growing in the ARTS

We believe that our music programs not only help cultivate the joy of music and development of music skills, but they also contribute to the academic development of our scholars. The skill of creating music is one that can benefit them for a lifetime.

Caring COMMUNITY

We believe in a community that is rooted in love and strengthened by relationship. This is exhibited through our active Home & School Association, and our emphasis on affirming and empowering each scholar who walks these halls.

Authentically CHRISTIAN

We believe in showing Christ daily to our scholars and our community, while also helping young people understand the value in building personal relationships with Christ. We seek first His kingdom, believing that "all these things shall [indeed] be added unto us."

Scholars as LEADERS

Because we see each scholar as a unique individual with the potential to have an impact on the world, we strive to provide opportunities that will help them be a leader today and tomorrow. We know that leadership can be exhibited in a variety of ways (e.g. student government leadership, program speakers, peer mentors, classroom leaders, and much more); therefore, we seek to find leadership avenues that allow scholars to lead in their own way.

Our educational philosophy places an emphasis on scholar growth and development through active and differentiated teaching methods. We believe that it is important that our scholars have time to "try on" learning; therefore, we build into our schedule daily opportunities for scholars to engage with content independently and with their peers.
